Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026 · This page is maintained by the Tango team to answer common privacy and data questions about Tango CRM. It describes our own practices and is not an independent certification.

1. Who we are

Tango CRM is owned and operated by Tango CRM, based in the United States. Tango CRM is the data controller for personal information processed through the Tango website and application, and decides how and why that information is used.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — your name, email address, username, avatar, and sign-in method (email or Google).
  • Onboarding details — the business type, niches, platforms, and goals you choose so we can set up your workspaces.
  • Workspace content — the contacts, opportunities, calendar events, journals, goals, analytics inputs, and notes you create.
  • Chat content — messages, connection requests, and chat preferences in Tango Community Room.
  • Billing information — subscription status and payment records handled by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical data — basic log and device information needed to operate and secure the Service.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and personalize your workspaces, pipelines, and dashboards.
  • Generate AI features such as Daily Briefings, Review with AI, Prioritize with AI, and Ask Tango using the data in your workspace.
  • Deliver Tango Community Room messages and notifications according to your chat settings.
  • Process subscriptions, trials, and billing.
  • Respond to support requests and improve the Service.
  • Keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.

4. Legal basis for processing

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (providing accounts, workspaces, and subscriptions); our legitimate interests (securing the Service, preventing fraud and abuse, improving the product); your consent (optional marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time); and compliance with legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

5. AI processing

When you use an AI feature, relevant workspace context is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not use your workspace content to train public AI models.

AI output is generated text and may be inaccurate — please review it before relying on it.

6. Sharing and recipients

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the categories of recipients needed to run Tango:

  • Service providers and subprocessors — cloud hosting, database, email delivery, and AI providers that operate the Service on our behalf.
  • Payment processing — Stripe processes payments for Tango Pro, handling checkout, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
  • Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
  • Authorities — where disclosure is required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

7. Other Tango users

Tango Community Room is social by design. Other users can find you by your username, name, or email in order to send a connection request, and they can see your username, display name, and avatar. Your CRM data — contacts, deals, journals, analytics — is never visible to other users.

8. Security

Access to your data is protected by authentication and row-level access rules so that your workspace content is only readable by your account. Data is encrypted in transit. Any third-party platform tokens are stored separately from your account records with restricted access.

No online service can promise perfect security, but we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information and improve our controls over time.

9. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or de-identify your workspace content, subject to any records we must keep for legal, tax, or accounting reasons — typically up to seven years for billing and tax records.

You can request deletion at any time by contacting us. Data no longer needed for these purposes is deleted or anonymised.

10. Your choices and rights

You can update your profile and onboarding details in the app, control notifications in Chat Settings, cancel your subscription at any time, and request a copy or deletion of your data.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and — for US state privacy laws — to opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To make a request, contact us through the Contact page. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally within 30 days.

11. International transfers

Tango is operated from the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

12. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember interface preferences such as your chat window size and position, and limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. We do not use them to build advertising profiles. You can manage or clear cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working.

13. Children

Tango is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

14. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Tango evolves and will notify you of material changes. For any privacy question or request, reach Tango CRM through the Contact page.
